Job summary

Bitdeer seeks a Principal Kubernetes Control Plane Engineer to architect the foundational control plane for our AI-native NeoCloud platform. You will build highly available, automated systems to manage thousands of Kubernetes control planes across distributed regions, enabling zero-downtime upgrades and enterprise-grade operations.

You will lead the development of the chassis supporting high-performance AI workloads, ensuring scalability, resilience, and robust production readiness for demanding

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with Go.
• Extensive Kubernetes ecosystem experience (Operators, API Server, etcd, Cluster API).
• Proven ability to operate, debug, and scale large distributed systems in production.
• Deep understanding of multi-tenancy, federation, and API governance in cloud-native environments.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation (Terraform, CI/CD) and managed cloud services.
• Strong technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience in high-velocity, high-growth engineering environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable control plane architectures using Cluster API for fleet-wide automation.
• Develop custom Kubernetes Operators and CRDs to streamline lifecycle management.
• Optimize etcd performance and ensure robust state management across regions.
• Implement secure, multi-tenant isolation at the API server layer for enterprise-grade security.
• Architect zero-downtime upgrades and multi-cluster federation for seamless user experiences.
• Collaborate with AI Scheduling and Fabric teams to integrate with GPU orchestration layers.
• Lead design reviews and mentor engineers to uphold high standards.
• Drive platform reliability by identifying and mitigating failure modes in the control plane chassis.
