Job summary

FlightSafety International seeks a highly experienced Pilot Instructor to lead ground-based training for KC-46 pilots. In this role, you will instruct across simulators and Trainer devices, work to enhance the training system curriculum, and serve as a subject matter expert for KC-46 operations.

The position requires eight years of flying experience, including five years as a C-17 pilot with air drop and aerial refueling, plus flight instructor credentials and a SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Eight (8) years flying experience, five (5) years as a C-17 pilot with air drop and aerial refueling experience, or able to obtain an AMC/A3TK waiver.
• Two (2) years or 200 hours of flight instructor experience in air drop, aerial refueling, and tactics.
• Recent C-17 flight simulator pilot instructor experience and CATS MECOC certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial, upgrade, requalification, and refresher training using aircraft and trainer devices.
• Conduct training for Aircrew Members in tanker and receiver procedures; diagnose and remediate student problems.
• Provide instructor briefings/debriefings and counseling to develop student proficiency.
• Extract and analyze student data; prepare for review sessions; act as KC-46 Pilot SME as needed.
• Maintain high instructional standards and knowledge of KC-46 systems and procedures.
• Suggest courseware corrections and updates to training policies and procedures.
