Job summary

Bemidji Area Schools is seeking a dedicated JROTC Instructor to join Bemidji High School for the 2026–2027 school year. This role offers the chance to inspire high school students to develop leadership, discipline, and service.

You will teach the U.S. Army JROTC curriculum, lead physical training, mentor cadets, organize competitions and community service projects, and build lasting relationships with students, families, staff and partners.

Qualifications

• Eligible applicants: Retired or separated U.S. Army Officers (O-3 to O-6) or W-1 to W-5 with a minimum of 8 years of service.
• Must meet U.S. Army JROTC eligibility, background, security, and certification requirements.
• Previous JROTC instructional experience preferred; strong leadership, communication, organizational, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach the U.S. Army JROTC curriculum and related coursework.
• Develop students’ leadership, teamwork, citizenship, and character.
• Mentor and motivate students toward personal and academic success.
• Lead physical training and hands-on learning experiences.
• Plan and supervise competitions, ceremonies, field trips, camps, and community service activities.
• Build student participation and enthusiasm for the JROTC program.
