Job summary

Expanse is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to join our continued efforts in building and maintaining electrical power systems across multiple sites. The role includes construction, maintenance, and repair of distribution and transmission lines with significant travel to job sites as demanded by customer needs.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, advanced electrical skills, and the ability to work safely in varied weather and environments, including field training of apprentices.

Qualifications

• Electrical distribution and transmission systems.
• Overhead and underground electrical construction and maintenance.
• Primary and secondary electrical systems.
• Electrical line equipment, components, and materials.
• Energized and de-energized linework practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test power lines and auxiliary equipment to locate and identify problems.
• Repair or replace damaged power lines and related equipment.
• Install insulators and other equipment to towers and utility poles.
• Adhere to safety procedures and protocols while working with high-voltage power lines.
• Construct and maintain power distribution lines, both overhead and underground.
• Set up service for customers by connecting wires and transformers to structures.
• Use testing devices to troubleshoot problems in power lines and other equipment.
• Work with a team to locate and fix faults in the electrical network.
• Assist in training apprentice linemen and guide them through their responsibilities.
• Your responsibilities will include setting up power lines, repairing defects, and performing regular maintenance.
• Strong understanding safety regulations, possess physical strength and be able to work in various weather conditions.
• Strong leadership experience in the field is also required.
