Job summary

American Lineman College (ALC) is seeking a skilled Certified Professional Journeyman Lineman Trainer to join our instructional team in Monroe, NC. The role centers on delivering engaging, standards-based instruction to prepare students with technical skills, professional conduct, and safety practices essential for success in the linework industry.

The trainer will mentor others, uphold safety, and contribute to growth as ALC integrates with Cotulla Education.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Lineman with 5+ years of experience.
• Strong instructional ability in classroom and field settings.
• Excellent communication skills; proficient with technology (iPad, computers, PowerPoint, MS Office).
• Demonstrated moral character; no felony convictions.
• Ability to climb wood poles and steel structures up to 100 feet.
• Ability to work on utility customer property; no prior termination from line trade employment.
• DOL or State-recognized Journeyman Lineman certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction for students.
• Develop lesson plans aligned with learning outcomes and industry standards.
• Evaluate student performance using competency standards and clear evaluation criteria.
• Provide feedback to support student growth and safety.
• Mentor fellow trainers and maintain training facilities and equipment.
