Job summary

Glades Electric Cooperative, Inc. seeks a Journeyman Lineman to lead and supervise Apprentices and drivers, training them for safe, productive line work. The role coordinates with engineers, control center, and warehouse staff while upholding high safety standards.

Eligible candidates must have a Florida Class A CDL, apprentice certification, and First Aid/CPR training. The company offers health, retirement, PTO, and a 4-day work week schedule with ten-hour days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and apprenticeship program certification required.
• Must complete apprentice program or have equivalent experience.
• Familiar with line work, tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Leadership and team-building abilities essential.
• Ability to plan and implement schedules; strong customer interaction skills.
• Must be able to work flexible/abnormal hours; standby and overtime required.
• Must possess a valid Florida Class A CDL license.
• First Aid and CPR training required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule day-to-day operations of the line crew per GEC procedures and safety rules.
• Plan daily schedules to optimize manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Assist with performance appraisals for Apprentices and drivers.
• Recommend additional training or staffing as needed.
• Train subordinates to minimize accidents and promote safety.
• Ensure safety and maintain high morale among team members.
• Direct work orders and coordinate with Power Supply Manager and other departments.
