Job summary

Lighting Maintenance Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to lead a small field crew repairing and maintaining highway lighting, electrical services, underground feeds, and related infrastructure. You will read blueprints, supervise a two-person team, and ensure safety while delivering quality repairs in roadways and outdoor lighting systems. This hands-on leadership role emphasizes independent work and accountability.

Qualifications

• Current clean driver’s license.
• Journeyman Electrical License required.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent training.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical experience.
• Roadway lighting experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of field assignments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations for roadway lighting repair and maintenance work.
• Supervise and train a one- to two-person crew.
• Troubleshoot and repair highway and roadway lighting systems.
• Work on electrical services, underground wiring, lighting circuits, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot 3-phase lighting circuits.
• Locate underground electrical faults.
• Set light poles and repair pole-mounted lighting equipment.
• Install, repair, and maintain lighting fixtures, wiring, conduit, and related components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, maps, manuals, specifications, and work orders.
• Use testing equipment, hand tools, power tools, and two-handed tools safely and effectively.
• Operate or work from bucket trucks, lifts, trenchers, backhoes, lift trucks, and related equipment when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and job status.
• Follow NEC standards, work zone safety requirements, and all company safety procedures.
• Coordinate with managers, inspectors, customers, and other field personnel as needed.
