Job summary

Trident Consulting is seeking a Lead Java FSE for one of our clients. This role can be onsite or hybrid in Richmond, VA or Atlanta, GA, offering $50/hr on W2.

You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications using Java and modern frontend technologies. You will build RESTful APIs, microservices, and responsive UI components with Angular or React, while leveraging Spring Boot and related Spring Framework modules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of software development with Java/J2EE technologies.
• Strong proficiency in: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security.
• Experience with front-end technologies: Angular (preferred) or React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Experience developing REST APIs and web services.
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, design patterns, and SDLC.
• Experience with NoSQL DB, especially MongoDB.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Proficiency with Git-based source control systems.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience with Copilot, Devin, Windsurf for AI prompting, Spec Driven development

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications using Java and modern frontend technologies.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Develop responsive UI components using Angular, React, or similar frameworks.
• Create scalable backend services using Spring Boot and related Spring modules.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices.
• Perform unit and integration testing and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot performance, security, and scalability issues.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases to design data models.
• Support production deployments and incident resolution.
