Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to drive modernization of MDM applications on IBM WebSphere, guiding migration from legacy Java stacks. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on development across Java/Spring, Angular, and REST APIs in a hybrid US-based environment.

You will mentor teams, enforce architecture standards, and advance CI/CD, DevOps, and deployment practices while collaborating with analysts, QA, and business stakeholders to achieve modernization goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization and migration of MDM applications from IBM WebSphere and legacy Java frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership for application transformation, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and modernization goals.
• Design, develop, and enhance enterprise apps using Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Angular, REST APIs, and modern software practices.
• Lead middleware modernization including WebSphere migration, Tomcat adoption, deployment modernization, and configuration improvements.
• Drive engineering practices around performance, resiliency, scalability, security, observability, and operational excellence.
• Conduct architecture, design, and code reviews and provide technical mentoring across multiple applications.
• Support technical analysis, modernization assessments, dependency evaluations, and migration planning.
• Collaborate with systems analysts, quality engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure successful modernization.
• Drive CI/CD adoption, release automation, deployment optimization, and DevOps maturity.
• Support production readiness reviews, release planning, cutover activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
