Job summary

JPMorganChase, part of the Asset & Wealth Management technology team, seeks a Lead Software Engineer to advance trusted market-leading technology products. You will design, develop, and secure scalable software, adopting AI-assisted practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and reliability.

You will guide architecture across Java, React, Kafka, Oracle, Aurora, Airflow, and Spark, clustering with cloud deployments and SDLC excellence.

Qualifications

• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in technologies and frameworks—Java/Spring, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, or Kafka; hands-on with cloud platforms (internal or AWS).
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with validation standards.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, and secure adoption.
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
• Practical cloud native experience.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing consistent validation standards
• Applies knowledge of tools within the SDLC toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities
• Set engineering standards and reference architectures across Java, React, Kafka, Oracle, Aurora, Airflow, and Spark; guide deployments to clouds
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to probe architectural designs and applicability
