Job summary

G2O in Pittsburgh is seeking a senior Java full-stack engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of Java-based applications, with React front-end work.

You will mentor junior developers, define technical direction, and partner with product managers to translate requirements into scalable, high-performance solutions. This on-site role requires strong architecture, experience with microservices, cloud platforms, and Agile practices.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software development focused on Java and full-stack.
• Expertise in architecture, microservices, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), and DevOps.
• Experience with design patterns, domain-driven design, and complex systems.
• Strong hands-on with Java J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Groovy, and React.
• Experience with databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications, provide technical guidance, mentoring junior developers, and overseeing the software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment
• Design and implement scalable and high-performance web applications using Java for back-end services and React for front-end development.
• Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Develop RESTful APIs to support front-end functionality and ensure seamless integration between the front-end and back-end.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to maintain code quality and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development processes and practices.

Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on Java and full-stack development.
• Expertise in architecture and coding best practices, and knowledge of modern technologies like microservices, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), and DevOps.
• Experience with software design patterns, domain-driven design, and developing complex systems.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java J2EE, proficiency in Java frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Hibernate), scripting languages such as Groovy, and front‑end technologies, particularly React.
• Experience with database technologies (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and Temenos Journey Manager/ Open UX would be added advantage.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
