Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Lead Developer with 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Java technologies and strong leadership abilities. The ideal candidate will be proficient in backend development, cloud services, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust Java-based applications.
• Lead a team of developers, providing guidance and mentoring to ensure best coding practices.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Ensure proper CI/CD pipelines are in place and maintained.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
• Support and troubleshoot production issues across environments.

Workplace: Remote Position. Approx. 10 working days of travel required per quarter to the client's office in Virginia.

Must Have Skills:

• Core and Advanced Java – Strong backend development expertise.
• Cloud Technologies – Exposure to AWS services and deployment strategies.
• CI/CD – Proficient with tools like Jenkins, Git, Maven, Docker, etc.
• API Development – Expertise in building and consuming RESTful APIs; thorough knowledge of HTTP.
• Database Skills – Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and proficiency in SQL.
• Application Servers – Experience with JBoss, Tomcat
• Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) – Full lifecycle software development from requirements to deployment.
• Code Quality – Unit testing, code reviews, and refactoring best practices.
• Team Leadership – Ability to mentor, coach, and guide development teams.

Preferred Skills:

• GraphQL – Hands-on experience or working knowledgeBasic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like jQuery or Bootstrap
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Exposure to agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
