Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Java Consultant & Backend Engineer who thrives on owning projects end-to-end. In this role, you won't just write code from a pre-packaged ticket—you will operate as a true technical partner and consultant.

In our high-velocity team structure, we remove the middle layer (such as product managers or business analysts) for mid-sized initiatives. You will work directly with business stakeholders to extract requirements from ground zero, evaluate business constraints, design scalable backend architectures, and implement high-performance Java solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Stakeholder & Requirements Ownership: Engage directly with business stakeholders to translate open-ended business needs into concrete technical features, defining requirements and edge cases from "ground zero."
• Consultative Problem-Solving: Act as a proactive technical advisor—challenging assumptions, proposing improvements, and articulating architectural trade-offs to both technical leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
• Architect & Build High-Throughput Java Systems: Design, deploy, and maintain resilient microservices, robust APIs (RESTful/GraphQL), and relational database schemas utilizing modern Java ecosystems.
• Optimize Performance & Streaming Data: Streamline database queries, caching strategies (Redis), and event-driven messaging pipelines (Apache Kafka) to support high-volume real-time data sync and e-commerce workflows.
• Leverage AI-Assisted Development: Seamlessly integrate AI coding tools into your daily workflow to accelerate execution while maintaining deep technical oversight and code understanding.
• Drive End-to-End Delivery: Take complete accountability for features from initial discovery call through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational health.

What You Bring

• 5+ Years of Senior/Lead Backend Engineering Experience: Demonstrated track record building enterprise distributed systems with a strong ownership mindset.
• Consultant Mindset & Ability to "Think on Your Feet": Exceptional ability to digest complex business logic in real time, ask the right questions, and articulate clear technical solutions on the fly.
• Modern Java Ecosystem Mastery: Deep proficiency with Java 17/21/25, Spring Framework / Spring Boot, Hibernate/EF ORMs, relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), Redis, and Apache Kafka.
• Exceptional English Communication Skills: Verbal and written fluency is mandatory. You must be able to explain technical concepts simply and clearly to non-technical business partners.
• Pragmatic Architecture & AI Literacy: Solid understanding of microservice design patterns and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), with a forward-thinking approach to using AI tools to boost daily velocity.
