Job summary

CodeRoad is seeking a senior software engineer for a 100% remote, LATAM-only engagement. You will deliver end-to-end web solutions across front-end and back-end, collaborate with US-based client teams, and leverage AI tooling to accelerate development. Strong SQL, API design, and DevOps practices are required.

Experience with legacy modernization, data migration, and cloud deployments will be highly valued, with ownership of software outcomes and cross-functional collaboration emphasized.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering delivering end-to-end web solutions.
• Expertise in SQL (MS SQL Server / PostgreSQL) and RESTful APIs.
• DevOps foundations: Git, CI/CD, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jira, Azure, Docker.
• Strong communication and ownership, able to work with North American teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead legacy modernization initiatives, including data migration and API integrations.
• Leverage Agentic AI & modern tooling to accelerate design, build, test, and shipping of high-quality code.
• Build data services and integrations with RESTful APIs and optimized SQL across MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Champion technical leadership and mentorship across peer developers.
• Drive continuous delivery and production excellence with automated pipelines and high test coverage.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Legacy Modernization: Drive complex migration initiatives from legacy systems (Zoho, Delphi, FoxPro) to modern, decoupled web architectures—including data migration, API integrations, and cutover execution .

Leverage Agentic AI & Modern Tooling: Thriving in an AI-first development culture, utilizing modern AI coding assistant tools to accelerate designing, building, testing, and shipping high-quality code .

Build Data Services & Integrations: Design RESTful APIs and optimize complex SQL queries across MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL to seamlessly integrate applications with core data platforms and interim legacy setups .

Champion Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance to peer developers through paired programming, design reviews, and code quality standards, helping legacy engineers cross-skill into modern full-stack methodologies .

What You Bring

Core Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering end-to-end web solutions across both front-end and back-end environments .

Database & Modernization Mastery: Advanced expertise in SQL (MS SQL Server / PostgreSQL), RESTful API design, and a track record of successfully migrating legacy systems to modern cloud setups .

DevOps & Cloud Foundations: Strong grasp of version control via Git, automated CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines), Agile workflows (Jira), and exposure to cloud platforms (Azure) and containerization (Docker) .

Ownership & Soft Skills: Proactive problem-solver comfortable interacting directly with business users, taking end-to-end accountability for software outcomes, and fostering collaboration across cross‑functional teams .

Communication: Fluent English (written and verbal) with exceptional technical communication and articulation skills for seamless integration with North American teams .
