Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in its Asset & Wealth Management technology group to drive secure, scalable backend systems and AI-enabled engineering practices. You will guide cross-functional teams, shape product design, and champion governance across multiple platforms.

The role emphasizes leadership, deep technical expertise, and impact across the SDLC, with opportunities to influence architecture decisions and enable secure, resilient systems at scale.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Experience leading large or cross-functional technologists teams.
• Strong backend experience with Java and/or Python; SQL & data modeling.
• Deep AWS experience; design, deploy, operate cloud-native systems end-to-end.
• Hands-on Apache Kafka experience and stream processing patterns.
• Solid grasp of distributed systems fundamentals.
• Strong CI/CD and test engineering practice.
• Excellent communicator across engineering and businessStakeholders.
• Experience leading multi-organization adoption of AI-enabled engineering operating models.
• Understanding of responsible AI risk and portfolio governance.

Responsibilities

• Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews code written by others
• Drives adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve quality and delivery
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve value realized by automation at scale
• Drives decisions influencing product design, application functionality, and technical operations
• Serves as a function-wide SME in one or more focus areas
• Contributes to engineering community around firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the SDLC
