Job summary

Caesars is seeking a highly experienced iSeries Security Lead to oversee the cybersecurity program for IBM i environments. You will guide security controls, incident handling, and audits while collaborating with IT and gaming properties to minimize disruption and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong communication skills and hands-on expertise with IBM i, PowerTech, TGSecure, and CrowdStrike, supporting a broad array of security initiatives across multiple properties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT Security or related field.
• Strong understanding of PCI, SOX, HIPAA and Gaming regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience securing IBM i environments in regulated settings.
• Experience with security controls, incident handling, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Review and maintain Caesars’ Cybersecurity program and strategy at tactical and operational levels for the iSeries platform.
• Ensure security controls function across logging, monitoring, alert management, incident handling, and vulnerability management.
• Support security research, development and other security tasks for the iSeries team.
• Establish and implement iSeries security standards and guidelines in partnership with IT and properties.
• Serve as Lead Security SME for regulators, external and internal auditors, and internal stakeholders.
• Minimize productivity impact from security changes and support business security needs.
• Install, upgrade, configure, deploy, and administer iSeries security applications.
• Monitor high-level users and investigate discrepancies; manage iSeries security in audits (SOX, PCI, gaming).
• Develop and manage iSeries security policies and procedures; ensure quality of reviews and code checks.
• Design operational iSeries security reporting and analyze security-event trends for stakeholders.

• Review and maintain Caesars’ Cybersecurity program and strategy at a tactical and operational level for the iSeries platform
• Ensure security controls function efficiently and effectively across security logging, monitoring, alert management, incident handling, vulnerability management, and configuration management
• Support the Cybersecurity iSeries Team with security research and development and other security-related tasks
• Establish and implement security-related standards, procedures, and guidelines for the iSeries environment in partnership with properties and Information Technology
• Serve as Lead Security Matter Expert for Gaming Control Board representatives, external auditors, internal auditors, Internal Controls and Compliance, and property internal auditors
• Minimize user productivity loss caused by security changes and support clients’ security business needs
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and leadership
• Install, upgrade, configure, deploy, and administer iSeries security applications
• Monitor high-level users and investigate discrepancies
• Manage iSeries aspects of SOX, PCI, Gaming Regulatory, and other audits and resolve findings and gaps
• Develop, implement, and manage iSeries security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines
• Ensure penetration testing, vulnerability threat assessments, threat modeling, security reviews, assessments, and code reviews are conducted with high quality
• Act as iSeries security subject matter expert for the Incident Response team and investigate possible company-impacting incidents
• Provide R&D and consulting support to Cybersecurity, Engineering, IT, and business projects
• Design and implement operational iSeries security reporting; analyze security-event trends and report metrics to the Sr Architect, Director of Engineering, CISO, and stakeholders
• Document and follow up on security exceptions and maintain process-flow and work-instruction documentation
• Manage SOC requirements and ensure iSeries security metrics are gathered daily
• Challenge business processes and assumptions to define appropriate solutions
• Train and advise less experienced security staff and non-security professionals
• Contribute to Cybersecurity, IT, and property projects; interact with business partners; assist with project plans and documentation
• Maintain enterprise-grade iSeries infrastructure and participate in multiple initiatives simultaneously

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older (required for regulated gaming environments)
• Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience in IT Security or Database Administration
• Ability to pass background checks and obtain and maintain gaming licenses in required jurisdictions
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Hands-on experience with IBM i (OS 7.3 and higher) in 24x7 production environments
• 10+ years of experience administering IBM i platforms
• 5+ years of experience installing, maintaining, and supporting IBM i security applications
• Proven experience identifying and remediating IBM i security vulnerabilities in a regulated environment
• Working knowledge of PCI, SOX, HIPAA, MICS, and/or Gaming Regulatory requirements
• General understanding of the Integrated File System (IFS) and its security implications
• Working knowledge of IBM Access Client Solutions (ACS) and IBM Client Access
• Experience supporting a multi-LPAR large-scale production environment
• Fortra PowerTech security suite experience
• Trinity Guard TGSecure security tool experience
• CrowdStrike or similar SIEM service experience
