EPAM Systems Inc. is seeking a Lead iOS Engineer to steer a mobile engineering squad, setting up codebase, tooling, and standards before scale.
You will own technical leadership, architecture, and drive AI-driven SDLC acceleration across the mobile stream, collaborating with the BFF team to align app-backend contracts. You must have extensive native iOS experience (Swift/SwiftUI), a track record of delivering apps from ground up, and strong expertise in iOS permissions, notifications, analytics
You will lead the mobile engineering squad, arriving a week ahead of the developers to set up the codebase, tooling, and standards before the team scales. The resource plan calls out mobile and AI engineering for this role, so you are expected to lead a team that builds with AI-assisted engineering practices as a matter of course, not as an experiment. We are looking for a Lead iOS Engineer with strong native iOS mobile app experience who has led a squad through a compressed delivery and knows where to spend quality effort and where to move fast.
Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Architecture: Own code quality and technical decisions inside the mobile stream Work closely with the solution architect to turn architecture into implementation Take personal responsibility for the hardest parts of the build Team Mentorship & Squad Ownership: Mentor a squad of mid and senior engineers across cross-platform and native work, guiding them through a compressed delivery timeline Cross-Stream Collaboration: Act as the technical counterpart to the BFF (Backend-for-Frontend) stream—the contract between app and backend is partly yours to negotiate AI-Driven SDLC Acceleration: Drive AI-assisted engineering practices naturally within the team Use approved AI tools to speed up: Code scaffolding, Unit test creation, Code review support, Technical analysis, Delivery planning
