Mark43 in Boston, MA is seeking a Lead iOS Engineer to define the future of mobile engineering. You will lead the technical direction of our iOS platform, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Android to evolve cross-platform strategy using Swift and Kotlin.

This role is Boston-based with a 3-day hybrid schedule. You will drive architecture, ship features for our public safety platform, improve CI/CD, and ensure a best-in-class native iOS experience across devices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with native iOS apps in Swift.
• Experience as a technical lead or senior engineer driving architecture and mentoring teammates.
• Deep expertise in iOS development, including Swift, Swift Concurrency, UIKit and/or SwiftUI.
• Strong experience with Kotlin and cross-platform mobile architectures.
• Experience shipping multiple production mobile applications from concept through App Store release.
• Experience designing scalable application architecture and writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
• Strong understanding of mobile testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and App Store release processes.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with cloud-based backend services.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Product, and Design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of features for our mobile-first public safety platform using Swift.
• Collaborate with Android engineers to explore shared logic via Kotlin Multiplatform while preserving a native iOS experience.
• Define the technical roadmap for the iOS platform balancing long-term architecture with rapid customer delivery.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver solutions that meet customer needs with high quality and performance.
• Mentor engineers, review pull requests, and establish engineering best practices around architecture and maintainability.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release processes to ensure reliable App Store deployments.
