Job description

Lead iOS Developer (REMOTE)

Cognizant is seeking a Senior iOS Developer to join our Mobile Apps team. The ideal candidate succeeds in a fast-paced environment, is self-motivated, and has a passion for business and technology. You will be responsible for maintaining existing code and developing new features in a Swift-based native iOS application.

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, USA (Remote)

You must be legally authorized to work in USA without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Responsibilities:

1. Improve code quality through participation in peer code reviews and knowledge share sessions within and across teams, keeping up to date with the latest technology and development trends in iOS.
2. Contribute to all areas of the development lifecycle, including architecture, design, development, testing, and release to the App Store.
3. Unit test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and reliability.
4. Work alongside product managers, designers, and other developers to analyze tasks and provide accurate estimates.
5. Identify opportunities for architecture or process improvements and drive discussions for adoption.

Qualifications:

1. 8+ years of experience
2. The ability to work well in a distributed team environment
3. Excellent customer service skills, including verbal and written communication skills
4. Experience being a technical leader and mentoring other developers
5. Expertise with Swift
6. Expertise with WebView and troubleshooting hybrid pages within the app
7. Experience debugging memory and performance-related issues through developer tools
8. Proven experience in writing high-quality, reusable code with minimal defects
9. History of releasing to the App Store frequently, with no loss in code quality
10. Understanding of common iOS design patterns, i.e., MVC, MVVM, Coordinators
11. Ability to learn new concepts and architectures quickly, as well as react to changes in priority or requirements on the fly
12. Experience with Git, branching strategies, and pull requests
13. Experience integrating third-party libraries
14. Passion for writing quality unit tests, UI automation tests, and TDD or a desire to learn

Bonus:

1. Experience with Agile/Scrum tools
2. Experience developing React Native or other cross-platform solutions
3. Hands-on experience with managing an iOS CI ecosystem, including provisioning profiles and certificate management
4. Knowledge of managing CI/CD through Macstadium or similar solutions.
5. Knowledge of User Interface and Accessibility best practices

Salary and Other Compensation: Applications will be accepted until 3/11/2025. The annual salary for this position is between $81,000 – $163,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
