Job summary

Waymo is seeking a senior iOS engineer to lead the technical strategy for the iOS platform and build scalable infrastructure for Waymo Driver apps. You will own networking, authentication, and local data persistence, mentoring engineers and driving SwiftUI/UI performance.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and robotics engineers to deliver user-facing products across multiple cities, while shaping architecture and engineering practices in concurrency and testing.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience building and shipping mobile apps from scratch.
• Production experience with SwiftUI in iOS.
• Strong track record delivering user-facing products.
• Experience partnering with product managers, designers, and robotics engineers.
• Emphasis on pixel-perfect UI and robust testing.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term architectural roadmap for the iOS platform.
• Build and own foundational frameworks for networking, authentication, and local data persistence.
• Drive engineering excellence with RFCs and Swift Concurrency best practices.
• Mentor senior engineers and elevate architectural thinking.
