Job summary

Justice Grown in Mattoon is seeking a lead Inventory Coordinator to drive accurate daily inventory operations, support compliance with state cannabis regulations, and provide hands-on leadership to the inventory team.

You will manage receiving, transfers, cycle counts, audits, and documentation, mentor staff, coordinate workflows, and help maintain audit-ready storage and systems including METRC, POS, and Microsoft Office. Availability nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years in inventory, retail ops, warehousing, or cannabis industry preferred.
  • Prior lead, mentoring, or team coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Description

At Justice Grown, we're looking for a detail-oriented leader who is passionate about inventory accuracy, operational excellence, and supporting a high-performing dispensary team.

As aLead Inventory Coordinator, you'll support the day-to-day execution of dispensary inventory operations while serving as a key operational resource within the inventory team. You'll help coordinate daily workflow, maintain inventory accuracy, support compliance with state regulations, and ensure inventory processes are completed efficiently and consistently. Working closely with management and cross-functional teams, you'll help maintain an organized, compliant, and audit-ready inventory operation while providing hands-on leadership and operational support.

This role requires availability to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leads daily inventory workflow and supports dispensary inventory operations, including receiving, transfers, cycle counts, reconciliations, audits, product organization, and fulfillment activities.
  • Serves as a lead resource for inventory team members by providing guidance on inventory procedures, operational processes, systems, and compliance requirements.
  • Assists with organizing and prioritizing daily inventory tasks to maximize operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and audit readiness.
  • Supports onboarding, training reinforcement, and ongoing development of inventory team members on company procedures, inventory systems, compliance standards, and best practices.
  • Partners with management to execute daily, weekly, and monthly inventory priorities while supporting department goals.
  • Completes inventory-related administrative tasks accurately and on time, including inventory logs, manifests, tracking documentation, reporting, and operational records.
  • Verifies inventory accuracy between physical inventory, POS systems, and state tracking systems while assisting with investigating and resolving discrepancies and variances.
  • Assists with receiving, verifying, labeling, storing, quarantining, transferring, returning, recalling, and destroying inventory in accordance with company procedures and state regulations.
  • Monitors inventory levels and promptly communicates low stock, damaged product, expired product, discrepancies, compliance concerns, and operational issues to management.
  • Helps maintain organized, clean, compliant, and audit-ready inventory storage areas.
  • Supports opening and closing inventory procedures as assigned.
  • Leads inventory process consistency and contributes to operational improvements and inventory initiatives.
  • Reinforces adherence to company policies, SOPs, safety standards, security procedures, and state cannabis regulations.
  • Serves as a designated key holder responsible for opening and closing the dispensary while ensuring all security, operational, and compliance procedures are completed accurately.
  • May perform Patient Care Associate responsibilities as needed to support business operations, staffing coverage, and customer experience.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Computers and Technology
  • Must be computer literate with the ability to learn operational systems (METRC, POS, Microsoft Office, inventory management systems, etc.).
  • Experience working with Outlook email and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and state cannabis tracking systems preferred.

  • Must pass all required background checks, certifications, and state cannabis affiliation or badging requirements.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and push/pull up to 100 pounds. Use assistance when lifting/moving over 100 pounds (multiple people, forklift, dolly, etc).
  • Ability to remain in a stationary standing or sitting position for up to eight hours based on business needs and sales volume.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, and retrieve products from cabinets, displays, and lower shelves.
  • Ability to use a computer, point-of-sale, and inventory systems, requiring hand dexterity and the ability to visually verify product and customer information.
  • Frequent holding/grasping with
    the hands when loading and unloading equipment.
