Position Summary:The Lead Inventory Control Specialist is the senior individual contributor responsible for inventory accuracy, inventory-control processes, and material traceability across warehouse and related storage locations. This role serves as the primary subject-matter expert for inventory transactions, cycle counting, physical inventory, discrepancy investigation, and inventory-process improvement.Operating as the daily extension of the Warehouse Manager for inventory-control matters, the Lead Inventory Control Specialist establishes standards for inventory accuracy, leads inventory-related problem solving, supports audit readiness, and coaches warehouse personnel on proper inventory-control practices. This position balances hands-on warehouse execution with analytical review, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement. This role provides technical leadership and functional direction in inventory-control matters but does not have direct people-management responsibility.Essential Functions:Own and lead daily inventory-control activities, including cycle counts, physical inventories, transaction review, discrepancy investigation, and reconciliation.Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy across factory, warehouse, offsite, and other designated storage locations.Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies involving material quantities, locations, lot numbers, serial numbers, work orders, sales orders, purchase orders, returns, and ERP transactions.Perform and review advanced ERP inventory transactions to ensure material movement, receiving, put-away, picking, transfers, adjustments, and consumption are recorded accurately and timely.Develop, maintain, and improve cycle-count processes, count schedules, inventory-control procedures, and related documentation.Analyze inventory trends and recurring discrepancies; identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions in partnership with Warehouse, Logistics, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, Finance, and Engineering.Serve as the primary escalation point for warehouse personnel on inventory-control questions, transaction errors, material-location issues, and count variances.Support inventory-related audits, compliance reviews, and internal controls by maintaining accurate records and ensuring audit readiness.Monitor inventory-control performance metrics and communicate key findings, risks, and improvement opportunities to the Warehouse Manager.Coordinate and support annual or periodic physical inventory activities, including planning, execution, reconciliation, and follow-up actions.Ensure materials are properly identified, labeled, stored, and traceable in accordance with company procedures and applicable quality requirements.Support nonconformance, return material authorization, return-to-vendor, and disposition processes as they relate to inventory accuracy and material control.Partner with Warehouse and Logistics personnel to ensure accurate staging, shipping, receiving, and material movement.Train, mentor, and provide practical guidance to Warehouse Coordinators, Warehouse Specialists, and other team members on inventory-control standards, ERP transactions, and proper material-handling practices.Lead or participate in lean, process-improvement, and standard-work initiatives that improve inventory accuracy, efficiency, safety, and warehouse performance.Perform hands-on warehouse activities as needed, including receiving, put-away, picking, staging, material movement, and cycle counts.Perform other duties as necessary to support Mevion’s goals.Education, Training, and Experience:12+ years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, materials management, or logistics; experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.Demonstrated expertise in inventory accuracy, cycle counting, physical inventory, inventory reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.Advanced proficiency with ERP systems, inventory transactions, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.Experience working with lot-controlled, serialized, high-value, sensitive, or non-standard materials preferred.Demonstrated ability to analyze inventory data, identify trends, investigate root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.Experience supporting internal audits, inventory controls, compliance requirements, and documentation standards preferred.Experience with NCR, RMA, RTV, and material-disposition processes preferred.Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and provide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to other team members without direct supervisory authority.Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or warehouse process-improvement initiatives preferred.Powered industrial truck (PIT) certification for forklifts, scissor jacks, and Crown Wave order pickers, or the ability to obtain and maintain certification.Physical and Environmental Considerations:Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods.Required use of standard office equipment, including laptop, phone, copier, and related systems.Required use of mobile scanning equipment, including handheld and wearable barcode scanners, for inventory transactions and material tracking.Must be able to safely navigate warehouse, factory, and storage environments.May be involved in rigging operations and heavy-equipment handling.Ability to lift 25-pound boxes to a height of 3–4 feet.Ability to push and pull heavy pallets using a hand truck or other approved equipment.Ability to reach, bend, and move safely throughout warehouse settings.The hiring range represents what Mevion Medical Systems, Inc. reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting.
