Job summary

Cortland is seeking an Interior Designer to lead end-to-end design vision for acquisitions, renovations, and special projects across a multimillion-dollar multifamily portfolio. You will translate concepts into cohesive, brand-aligned environments that elevate resident experience and asset value.

You will develop renovation concepts, design model units, and coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure design intent is realized across interiors and exteriors, while managing budgets

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably in high-end residential or hospitality environments.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience using Revit.
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Decorative Arts, or a related field.
• Strong vendor, supplier, and trade partner network.
• Deep understanding of measurements and site-specific dimensions.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Proven project management and organizational capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Bluebeam; ability to hand sketch.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design vision for acquisitions, renovations, and special projects.
• Design model units, including furniture selection, budgeting, delivery coordination, installation oversight, and care binder creation.
• Collaborate with Investments, Cortland Build, Architecture, and external vendors to ensure design intent is consistent.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for alignment with design intent.
• Lead furniture selection, contracts, budget tracking, and installation across projects.
• Coordinate with landscape architects to set site-wide design direction and approve finishes.
