Job summary
Inova Schar Cancer Institute is seeking an Integrative Oncology Physician to lead the integrative program within the Peterson Life with Cancer initiative. This full-time role focuses on bridging evidence-based complementary therapies with conventional care to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
The physician leader will collaborate with a broad team of specialists to expand services across the cancer continuum, drive clinical excellence, and advance program development in a nationally
Qualifications
- MD with licensed Virginia medical practice.
- Experience in integrative medicine or oncology settings preferred.
- Evidence-based integrative therapies knowledge.
- Ability to lead clinical programs and teams.
Responsibilities
- Conduct personalized integrative oncology consultations across cancer care continuum.
- Coordinate non-pharmacologic interventions (acupuncture, yoga, mindfulness) for symptom management.
- Develop guidelines for complementary therapies with pharmacy leadership.
- Counsel on diet, exercise, sleep, and stress reduction for patient well-being.
- Educate clinicians on integrative oncology practices and potential herb-drug interactions.
- Help grow the Integrative Oncology program with care pathways and research.
- Collaborate with oncologists, behavioral health, nutrition, and palliative care teams.
