Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for the Solar Cell Factory to design, build, and optimize automation for gas handling, deposition, and wastewater systems. The role emphasizes safe operation of hazardous materials and high-volume manufacturing with robust control code and instrumentation design.

Responsibilities include commissioning, FAT/SAT testing, and cross-functional collaboration to minimize downtime while meeting safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of experience with fluids/systems manufacturing, controls and automation.
• Experience designing and implementing instrumentation in hazardous environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automation systems including PLC programming and SCADA.
• Develop control logic, PID loops, and interlocks for centralized control.
• Select and calibrate field instrumentation in hazardous environments.
• Lead commissioning, FAT/SAT testing, and troubleshooting of control systems.
• Ensure electrical designs comply with NEC/NFPA/UL508A.
