Job summary

FuelCell Energy is seeking a Staff Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary engineering team responsible for designing and delivering fuel cell–based systems for power generation, carbon capture, hydrogen production, and energy storage applications.

This staff-level, hands-on technical leadership position emphasizes instrumentation, valves, and field devices, with strong responsibility for PLC and HMI software development, and operates with autonomy across design,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related technical field.
Minimum 10 years in instrumentation and controls engineering.
Independent contributor or lead for instrumentation and valve selection.
Strong PLC and HMI programming experience across projects.

Responsibilities

Lead selection, specification and application of instrumentation, valves, and field devices.
Define and maintain control system architectures and I/O definitions.
Lead PLC and HMI software design, development and commissioning.
Review P&IDs, loop diagrams, and instrument datasheets.
Support system testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting.
