Job summary

NextDecade Corporation seeks an Engineer, Instrument & Controls for the Rio Grande LNG site near Brownsville, TX. The role supports long-term operations, reporting to the Manager Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical Engineering within Facilities Engineering.

This position may backfill the manager and will supervise contractor controls personnel as needed. Required: 10+ years in control systems engineering ( LNG facility preferred ), B.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of control systems engineering experience.
• 5+ years of instrumentation and control systems engineering in LNG facilities or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel 10–15% domestically & internationally.
• Ability to lead, document rigor, and collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead support for DCS and control systems optimization and reliability.
• Investigate trips, downtime, and conformance with safety and process discipline.
• Develop and monitor control systems KPIs for safe, reliable operation.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, quality, PSM and HSSE teams.
