Job summary

Mathnasium in Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Lead Instructor to support center operations and deliver high-quality math instruction. You will coach instructors, ensure a positive learning environment, and cover Center Director duties in their absence.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented with strong communication skills for families and staff. The role offers afternoon/evening hours and weekend shifts, with opportunities for growth across multiple centers.

Qualifications

• Must know math concepts through 12th grade.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with families and staff.
• Ability to provide solutions and overcome objections.
• Good judgment under pressure.
• Ability to train and engage staff and delegate tasks.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
• High School diploma or GED; some college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand the center mission and support Center Director.
• Conduct tours and consultative sales with parents; enroll students.
• Act as Manager On Duty; open/close center as needed.
• Manage instructors during instructional hours and adjust student/instructor ratios.
• Ensure instructors use the Mathnasium Method.
• Provide feedback on instructor performance.
• Participate in local marketing events.
• Lead center operations when Center Director is absent.

What You Will Do...

The ideal candidate will be a bright and ambitious professional, willing to work hard and change the way students view math. Candidates should be detailed minded, have good organizational skills, be highly motivated, and very enthusiastic. This key leadership position drives quality and consistency of the center experience. You will utilize your talents to manage the classroom during instructional hours, including coaching and training a team of instructors, and ensuring students are provided with effective and concise math instruction that makes sense to them. Lead Instructors are responsible for assuming the Center Director’s duties in his/her absence.

Requirements:

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Understand the company mission, our families needs and work in conjunction with the Center Director in creating a fun and positive learning environment
• Conduct center tours and consultative sales presentations while building with parents Schedule assessments and effectively enroll students
• Demonstrate good judgment in stressful situations
• Act as Manager On Duty, open center as needed. Ability to close is a MUST!
• Manage the center during instructional hours, including assigning students to instructors and adjusting student/instructor ratios as necessary
• Ensure all instructors utilize the Mathnasium Method when teaching students
• Review student needs and educational status with the Center Director on an ongoing basis
• Provide feedback to the Center Director regarding Instructor performance
• Participate in local marketing events

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must know math concepts through 12th grade

This is a part time position. Lead Instructors typically work between 20 to 25 hours a week, based on center needs. Hours are generally afternoon and evenings Monday - Thursday from 1-8pm and Saturdays 10-2pm.
