Job summary

Fortis Franchise Group, the #1 Mathnasium franchisee in the United States, is hiring a Lead Instructor in Burleson. This part-time role leads the instructional floor, coaches instructors, and may assume Center Director duties in their absence.

Qualifications

• Strong math skills through 12th-grade mathematics.

We’re looking for a Lead Math Instructor to join our Mathnasium of Burleson team! This role is perfect for someone who is confident in math, enjoys helping students succeed, and is ready to take on additional responsibility within a fun, fast-paced learning environment.

You bring the math skills, positive attitude, and passion for helping students — we’ll teach you the Mathnasium Method and everything else you need to succeed.

The Opportunity

As a Lead Instructor, you’ll do more than teach math. You’ll help lead the instructional floor, support and coach instructors, work closely with the Center Director, and ensure students receive consistent, high-quality instruction.

Lead Instructors also serve as the Manager on Duty when needed and may assume Center Director responsibilities in their absence.

What You'll Do

Lead the Learning Floor

• Help create a fun, positive, and engaging learning environment
• Manage the instructional floor during student sessions
• Assign students to instructors and adjust student-to-instructor ratios as needed
• Ensure instructors consistently utilize the Mathnasium Method
• Help instructors navigate student needs and classroom challenges
• Monitor the overall student experience and quality of instruction
• Provide engaging math instruction to students from elementary through high school
• Explain math concepts in ways that are clear, approachable, and easy to understand
• Build relationships with students and help develop their confidence in math
• Review student progress and educational needs with the Center Director

Coach & Support the Team

• Help train, coach, and support Mathnasium instructors
• Provide feedback to the Center Director regarding instructor performance
• Model strong instructional techniques, professionalism, and customer service
• Help create a collaborative and accountable team environment

Support Families & Center Operations

• Build strong relationships with parents and families
• Assist with center tours and conversations with prospective families
• Help schedule assessments and support the enrollment process
• Serve as Manager on Duty and open or close the center as needed
• Support local marketing and community events
• Step in to support Center Director responsibilities when needed

What We're Looking For

• Strong math skills through 12th-grade mathematics
• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred
• Experience working with children, tutoring, teaching, coaching, or mentoring is a plus
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Positive, energetic, and comfortable leading others
• Ability to coach, train, and delegate responsibilities to team members
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and demonstrate good judgment in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Ability to confidently communicate with current and prospective families
• Ability to close the center is required

Schedule

This is a part-time position averaging approximately 20–25 hours per week, depending on center needs.

Typical availability includes:

Monday–Thursday: Afternoon and evening hours, generally between 1:00 PM–8:00 PM
Saturday: Approximately 10:00 AM–2:00 PM

Because this is a leadership position, candidates must have reliable afternoon/evening availability and the flexibility to help open or close the center as needed.
