Job summary

VCU Health is seeking an experienced Senior Instructional Designer to build curricula and training materials that advance team performance. You will mentor junior designers, lead the evaluation of learning outcomes with Kirkpatrick methodologies, and drive standards, templates, and processes across the instructional design team.

The role involves collaborating with business units to identify needs, developing both classroom and web-based courses, and promoting best practices across healthcare

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience in content development or instructional design.
• Strong understanding of instructional design models and learning theory.
• Experience facilitating training in-person and virtual environments.
• Kirkpatrick's Evaluation methodology knowledge or certification.
• Experience developing virtual education experiences.
• Healthcare industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business partners and centers of excellence to identify training needs and solutions.
• Advise and collaborate with instructional designers to improve training activities based on metrics.
• Develop classroom and/or web-based courses and learning materials aligned to goals.
• Evaluate learning outcomes using Kirkpatrick's methodology to ensure impact.
• Lead curricula development and mentor junior instructional designers.
