Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions (CGS) is seeking a kitchen lead to prepare meals for a Center, manage assistants and trainees, and ensure compliance with government, corporate, and management directives. The role requires attention to safety, hygiene, and efficiency in a fast-paced cafeteria environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating with staff, maintaining sanitary conditions, and supporting center events while managing food safety and waste reduction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One (1) year experience in the food service industry.
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s certificate within 30 days of employment.
• Successfully pass background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook quantity of food per menu and student count.
• Instruct assistants and trainees in safe, hygienic food preparation.
• Keep work area safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.
• Prepare foods for special functions and visitors.
• Assist in cleaning kitchen and cafeteria after meals.
• Minimize waste via proper storage, inventory and utilization.
• Ensure foods are held and served at proper temperatures.
