Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Chief Inspector to lead highway and bridge construction inspections in Rocky Hill, CT. The role requires extensive field experience and leadership to guide inspection teams and ensure quality across projects.

The position offers an hourly rate between $85 and $95 and requires a valid US driver’s license with MVRS checks; relocation sponsorship is not offered. Work is on-site with a large transportation program and potential security onboarding.

Qualifications

• HS plus 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices; selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to subordinate group, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Establishes and maintains comprehensive project records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility of all documentation.
• Serves as technical expert in field inspections and audits, recognized as the 'go-to' expert for complex technical issues.
• Provides clear guidance for all inspections, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards across projects.
• Sets direction and goals for inspection teams, aligning with project objectives and strategies.
• Acts as external spokesperson on technical project issues, representing the company in meetings with clients and regulatory bodies.
• Leads the development and implementation of audit strategies for the area of expertise.
• Serves as key contact for high-profile engagements and member of senior leadership team.
• Oversees the development and implementation of safety protocols for all inspection activities.
