Qualifications

• Earned Doctoral Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Advanced ABD considered; degree must be conferred by time of appointment.
• Five years of full-time university faculty experience for Associate rank; could substitute related experience in rare cases.
• Scholarly publication record commensurate with rank; research/teaching in solid mechanics, mechanical systems design, manufacturing processes, or rigid-body mechanics/dynamical systems analysis.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses and develop curriculum in areas of solid mechanics, manufacturing processes, mechanical systems design, and rigid-body mechanics/dynamical systems analysis.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students; supervise student research and projects.
• Develop and sustain a research program; contribute to the new Ph.D. in Engineering program.
