Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a 9-Month, Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering to begin Fall 2027. The successful candidate will teach courses in solid mechanics, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems design, mentor students, and develop an active research program.

The department seeks candidates who will contribute to the growth of the new Ph.D. in Engineering program and collaborate across disciplines.

Qualifications

Assistant Rank requires a Doctoral Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Doctorate conferred by time of appointment.
Associate Rank requires a Doctoral Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; five years of full-time faculty experience (four as Assistant Professor).
Preferred: interdisciplinary research and collaboration with government or industrial labs.

Responsibilities

Teach courses in solid mechanics, manufacturing processes and mechanical systems design.
Mentor students and supervise undergraduate/graduate projects.
Develop and refine curriculum and contribute to the new Ph.D. in Engineering program.
Establish and lead an active research program in the candidate's area.
