Job summary

Beacon Hill Life Sciences is seeking a principal research scientist to provide technical leadership for the development of parenteral pharmaceutical products in the Indianapolis area. The role spans formulation, analytical evaluation, manufacturing process development, scale-up and external manufacturing collaboration.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or a comparable discipline.
• Significant pharma/biotech industry experience.
• Extensive experience developing sterile injectable/parenteral dosage forms.
• Strong knowledge of formulation and process development.
• Experience with analytical methods for product quality and stability.
• Experience with manufacturing scale-up and tech transfer.
• Experience collaborating with external development/manufacturing partners.
• Ability to lead complex scientific initiatives and communicate across disciplines.
• Strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development activities for sterile injectable products.
• Plan and execute formulation studies to improve performance and manufacturability.
• Apply analytical data to assess quality, stability, and formulation behavior.
• Establish and optimize manufacturing processes for injectable products.
• Coordinate tech transfer with external partners.
• Mentor junior scientists and provide technical direction to teams.
• Prepare development reports and regulatory documentation.
