Job summary

Carefeed is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to design and operate the cloud backbone of our platform in Chicago. You’ll lead infrastructure direction, build scalable tooling, and partner with product and dev teams to deliver reliable systems.

The role emphasizes experience with AWS ECS and Aurora, Terraform, and CI/CD, with a bias toward cost efficiency and blameless incident response. Hybrid work in Chicago offers growth as we scale.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps roles.
• Experience with Terraform and CI/CD tooling.
• AWS (ECS and Aurora) production experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong independent ownership of complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the cloud infrastructure that supports our products with reliability and cost-effectiveness.
• Build and maintain a CI/CD pipeline for product development and releases.
• Drive adoption and standardization of operational tools across engineering teams.
• Respond to production incidents, contribute to blameless postmortems, and continuously improve system reliability.
• Collaborate across engineering, product and business operations as an infrastructure expert.
