Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer/Developer IV to lead the Informatics and Data Services team at the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center.

Reporting to the IT Director, you will oversee 2-3 software developers and maintain the LabKey-based EHR server used for animal care and research. You will design and develop code, manage multiple projects, mentor staff, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet evolving EHR requirements while ensuring performance

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years of professional experience in software development.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated project management skills and ability to translate requirements into plans.
• Strong organization and prioritization abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Exercises supervisory authority for the IDS team including hiring, evaluating, and disciplining staff.
• Trains and provides technical guidance to junior staff.
• Develops data structures and performance strategies for the EHR system.
• Determines testing methodologies and manages test plan implementation.
• Designs and develops integrated applications meeting business needs.
• Consults with clients on status, proposals, and technical issues.
• Leads development, upgrades, and maintenance projects.
• Reviews requirements and ensures alignment with IT and business strategies.
• May supervise unit staff and resolve routine personnel issues.
• Conducts system analysis and develops design specifications for integrations.
