Job summary

The Wisconsin National Primate Research Center at UW–Madison invites a Software Engineer/Developer IV to lead the Informatics and Data Services team, overseeing 2-3 developers and the LabKey-based EHR server used for animal care and research.

You will design, implement, test, and optimize systems, mentor staff, manage projects, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure reliable performance and future-ready workflows.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years of software development experience.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the IDS team of 2–3 software developers.
• Design data structures and systems performance strategies.
• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans for updates.
• Oversee testing and rollout of new applications.
• Mentor staff and coordinate with stakeholders across the WNPRC.
• Drive system integration and performance optimization.
