Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an informaticist to promote the use of healthcare data and IT in scholarly research and business challenges. You will help design fit-for-purpose research databases and analytic solutions, serving as a liaison between physicians and research staff to translate data needs and interpret analytic findings.

Preferred candidates have 5 years in clinical care, 3 years with EHR systems (EPIC, Cerner, Allscripts), and experience with NLP/AI-driven analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field as required by the company
• 5 years of clinical care experience (ambulatory, hospital, post-acute)
• 3 years hands-on experience with EHR systems (EPIC, Cerner, Allscripts or comparable)
• 3 years in Clinical Workflow, Data Analytics or BI
• 1+ years working with healthcare claims data (preferred)
• Experience supporting academic or scholarly research and data documentation (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Translate data needs between physicians and research staff
• Design and develop fit-for-purpose research databases and analytic solutions
• Contribute to real-time/streaming analytics and alerting
• Develop business rules for clinical data domains in collaboration with Data Governance
• Provide clinical process and system training
• Collaborate across health plan, clinical, admin and IT teams
