Job summary

The Goddard School of South Loop in Chicago, IL invites applications for a Lead Infant Toddler Teacher Part Time. This in-person role supports multiple classrooms and age groups throughout the day, with a schedule of 8 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM.

We seek a dependable, nurturing and energetic educator to establish a safe learning environment, manage the classroom, and engage children with developmentally appropriate activities. Vaccination is required.

• Able to meet Illinois DCFS requirements for an early childhood classroom.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment.
• Develop a classroom management system aligned with developmental goals.
• Ensure state ratio requirements are met at all times.
• Perform cleaning responsibilities promptly (e.g., spills).
• Advance children’s physical and intellectual development.
• Adapt activities to meet individual needs of each child.
• Create a multi-cultural learning environment and inclusive activities.
• Provide developmentally appropriate activities to engage children.
• Communicate with families and faculty in a professional manner.
• Encourage family involvement in children’s learning experiences.
• Maintain portfolios for each child and classroom Parent Board.
• Observe children and document progress using assessment tools.
• Attend faculty meetings, in-service days, conferences and growth opportunities.

Lead Infant Toddler Teacher Part Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM.

The Goddard School of South Loop is looking for a dependable, nurturing and energetic Lead Infant Toddler Teacher Part Time to support our classrooms throughout the school day.

What You'll Do

• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment


• Develop an appropriate classroom management system to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom


• Ensure that children are always within state ratio requirements


• Perform cleaning responsibilities (e.g., spills) immediately


• Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence


• Adapt program to meet the individual needs of each child


• Create a multi-cultural learning environment


• Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to engage children in learning


• Respect cultural and ethnic diversity


• Communicate, in a professional manner, with families and faculty


• Encourage families to become an integral part of their children’s learning experiences


• Maintain a portfolio for each child


• Maintain the classroom Parent Board


• Perform child observations and document in their portfolios, Use assessment tools (e.g., Progress Reports, Children’s Progress)


• Attend faculty meetings, in-service days, conferences and professional growth opportunities.
