Job summary

Discovery Kids Childcare within Orono Public Schools invites an experienced Lead Infant Teacher to guide the infant classroom at the Orono Discovery Center. You will foster a safe, joyful learning space where our youngest learners thrive and families feel supported.

You’ll plan daily activities, track growth with GOLD, mentor staff, share updates via Seesaw and newsletters, and uphold a clean, safe, ratio-conscious classroom in a 4-Star Parent Aware and NAEYC-accredited program.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in early childhood education, including caring for infants.
• Classroom leadership or mentoring experience; a warm, respectful approach to partnering with families.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead developmentally appropriate daily activities for infants.
• Track growth using Teaching Strategies GOLD and hold family conferences twice a year.
• Mentor and guide the assistant teachers and aides in your classroom.
• Share daily photo updates on Seesaw and a monthly family newsletter.
• Keep a clean, safe, organized classroom and maintain staff-to-child ratios.

Lead Infant Teacher | Discovery Kids Childcare, Orono Public Schools

Pay: $21.62 to $23.84/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week. No weekends!
Location: Orono Schools Discovery Center
