Job summary

You will also email daily updates to families and coordinate with staff to ensure a safe, nurturing program. The role requires an Associate or Bachelor’s in early childhood education, at least 2 years of experience with children, and DCFS standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field.
• Minimum 6 college credit hours in child development.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with children.
• Must meet DCFS standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to physically interact with children (stooping, floor activities).
• Love of children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing developmentally appropriate programs for assigned classes.
• Maintain a warm, caring attitude toward all children.
• Supervise and actively engage with children in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, buses, and offsite trips.
• Send daily classroom updates to parents via email.
• Inform Director of parent messages, accidents, and incidents.
• Maintain professional relationships with parents and staff.
• Protect confidentiality and follow agency policies.
• Attend staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues.
• Work in partnership with teachers and staff.
• Abide by the JCYS Employee Handbook.
