Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician IV for the 3rd shift (8pm–6am, Sunday–Thursday). You will diagnose and repair electro-mechanical issues, perform setup changes, and keep critical equipment in peak condition across a North American manufacturing network.

The role requires 5–10 years of manufacturing maintenance experience, strong electrical and safety knowledge, and the ability to train teammates.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience.
• 5–10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures.
• Able to adhere to safety policies/procedures and QA expectations.
• Available for standby, off-hours and overtime as required.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and CMMS systems.
• Willing to attend training sessions, including out-of-state locations.
• Ability to train all levels of Technicians.
• Intermediate knowledge of fabrication (welding, basic machining).
• Able to read prints, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual English & Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain mechanical components and pneumatic systems.
• Advanced understanding of electrical principles and motor control.
• Diagnose and repair electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, and PLC I/O.
• Implement new circuits and relocate machines as needed.
• Enter all work completed in the CMMS and monitor spare parts usage.
• Adjust equipment based on SPC data and coordinate with QA.
• Train technicians in more complex tasks and skills.
• Ensure safety compliance and support ongoing maintenance programs.

JOB DETAILS

3rd Shift: 8pm-6am Sunday-Thursday

Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment
• Perform detailed setup on equipment including recipe changes and control adjustments
• Repair and keep mechanical machine components in top operating condition
• Advanced understanding of electrical principles such as voltage, current and resistance
• Diagnose and repair electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, photo eyes, etc.
• Advanced understanding of electrical safety and motor control circuits and programmable drives
• Troubleshoot the inputs and outputs on PLC and repair issues
• Complete projects to add electrical circuits and controls, new equipment and relocate machines
• Maintain and repair pneumatic systems including repairs of cylinders and other components
• Perform simple to complex mechanical Preventative Maintenance Tasks following instructions
• Enter all work completed in computer-based maintenance program
• Monitor and report spare parts usage including completing parts order forms
• Adjust equipment based on Statistical Process Control data and team with QA
• Train all levels of technicians in more complex tasks and skills
• Responsible for direct reports activities
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Associates degree in related field, or equivalent relative experience
• 5-10 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures
• Able to strictly adhere to safety policies/procedures and be committed to customer quality.
• Must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and CMMS systems
• Must be willing to attend training sessions as needed, including out of state locations
• Ability to train all levels of Technicians
• Intermediate knowledge of fabrication (ex. welding, basic machining)
• Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of intermediate troubleshooting
• Able to read printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships employees, vendors, contractors, and suppliers
• Ability to show attention to detail in a very fast paced environment
• Bilingual is plus.(English & spanish)
