Job summary

Air Products seeks a highly motivated Specialist Electrician to support operations across the Midwest and southeastern United States. This residence-based role requires strong organizational skills to guide maintenance crews and ensure reliable electrical systems throughout numerous facilities.

You will diagnose issues, develop refurbishment plans, and coordinate with engineering and operations to safely execute maintenance activities. Travel and on-call readiness are expected.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years (10 years preferred) experience in the petrochemical and manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with low, medium and high voltage electrical equipment maintenance, start-up or commissioning.
  • Knowledge of NEC, hazardous locations, and safe work practices is highly desirable.
  • Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, install, troubleshoot, modify, and maintain electrical equipment including motors, transformers, switchgear, and protective relays.
  • Support electrical reliability and maintenance across plants, JV partners, and contractor sites.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and provide technical guidance for repairs and improvements.
  • Develop refurbishment procedures for worn components and oversee parts replacement.
  • Provide decision-making support for major repairs and reliability initiatives.
  • Create detailed work scopes for repairs, rebuilds, and overhauls.
  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and operations for safe execution.
  • Prepare technical reports and equipment assessments.

Education

High school diploma with technical schooling preferred
Strong organizational and leadership abilities
Ability to work independently and lead maintenance crews
Team player and self-motivated
Willingness to travel for regional/national assignments

Tools

National Electrical Code knowledge
Electrical distribution and motor control knowledge
Safety protocols and PPE adherence
