Job summary

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Specialist Electrician to support operations across the Midwest and southeastern United States.

This residence-based role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to lead maintenance crews. You will diagnose electrical and control-system issues, develop refurbishment procedures, coordinate with engineering and operations, and provide technical decisions for repairs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; technical school or college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years (10 years preferred) in petrochemical/manufacturing with low, medium and high voltage equipment maintenance, start-up or commissioning.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution, motors and motor controls, conduit/wiring, lighting, grounding; familiarity with NEC and hazardous locations.
  • Supervisory experience a plus; strong safety and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours; able to work in industrial environments including heights and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Perform, inspect, repair, install, troubleshoot and maintain electrical equipment including motors, transformers, switchgear, relays, starters and distribution systems.
  • Support electrical reliability and maintenance across Global Operations plants and vendors.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and provide technical expertise for electrical/control system failures.
  • Develop refurbishment procedures and oversee repair and spare parts replacement.
  • Provide technical decision-making support for major repairs, overhauls, and reliability improvements.
  • Develop detailed work scopes for repairs, rebuilds and overhaul projects.
  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance and operations for safe, efficient execution.
  • Prepare technical reports, repair documentation and equipment assessments.
