Job summary

Skilled Trades Services is seeking an experienced Lead Industrial Electrician for a long-term project in the Hickory, NC area. A true working lead is needed to manage and run a crew while still performing hands-on electrical work.

The candidate should have proven leadership abilities, be comfortable reading blueprints and specifications, and be willing to work overtime. Data center experience is a plus, and a valid driver’s license with clean record is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Lead Electrician in an industrial environment is required.
• Proven ability to lead, manage, and coordinate a crew of industrial electricians.
• Must be a hands-on leader willing to work alongside the crew.
• Strong experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience with industrial electrical installations, terminations, equipment, and troubleshooting.
• Data center experience is a plus.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed.
• Must live within approximately 45 miles of Hickory, NC.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with no DUI/DWI violations and be eligible to operate a company vehicle.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must have reliable transportation and appropriate tools/PPE.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front by planning and directing the day's work and keeping the crew productive and safe.
• Coordinate and manage a crew of industrial electricians on site.
• Perform hands-on electrical work alongside the team as needed.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints to support installations and troubleshooting.
• Oversee industrial electrical installations, terminations, equipment, and system testing.

We’re looking for a true working lead—someone who can effectively manage and run a crew of industrial electricians while still putting on the tool belt and working right alongside the team.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Lead Electrician in an industrial environment is required

• Strong experience measuring, bending, installing, and running rigid conduit
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Experience with industrial electrical installations, terminations, equipment, and troubleshooting

• Must live within approximately 45 miles of Hickory, NC
