Job summary

dot.cards is hiring a Lead Industrial Designer to own industrial design across its entire physical product lineup. From NFC cards, wearables, and accessories to packaging, you will shape products that connect the physical and digital experience.

You will bring a cohesive design language to the portfolio and guide external partners while remaining hands-on from early concepts through production. You will work closely with product and software teams, engineers, and manufacturing partners to turn

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of industrial design experience, with multiple consumer products taken from early concept through mass production.
  • Portfolio demonstrating excellent form development, proportions, material selection, and usability.
  • Experience leading design across a product family or multiple concurrent products.
  • Strong hands-on CAD, surfacing, rendering, and physical prototyping skills using SolidWorks, Rhino, or KeyShot.
  • Understanding of injection molding, metal fabrication, surface finishes, tooling, and assembly.
  • Experience with overseas manufacturing partners and production.
  • Ability to lead designers and external partners while remaining hands-on.
  • Clear communication and collaborative decision-making in a fast-moving company.

Responsibilities

  • Own design across the full product portfolio, balancing new development with improvements.
  • Define and evolve a dot.cards design language across form, color, materials and interactions.
  • Collaborate with Product to shape hardware roadmap and prioritize concepts.
  • Observe customer use, translate into concepts, and develop sketches, CAD, renderings and prototypes.
  • Work with product, UI designers and Engineering to create cohesive hardware/software experiences.
  • Lead packaging and finishing decisions, including personalization and engraving where applicable.
  • Manage external studios, set schedules, and review factory samples from prototype to production.
  • Ensure design handoffs with CAD, specs, and reference samples.
