Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Phoenix VA Health Care System seeks a Surgical Critical Care specialist to oversee the surgical critical care team and provide patient care in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit.

Approximately 80% clinical duties and 20% administrative work, Monday–Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with on-call duties. Requires full medical licensure, residency completion, and board eligibility; EDRP may apply.

Qualifications

• Must hold U.S. physician licensure and complete residency in a surgical specialty.
• Board certification in General Surgery is preferred for faculty roles.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT; refer/appoint until filled.
• Oversee and organize the surgical critical care team in the SICU.
• Provide clinical and administrative leadership within the General Surgery Section.
