Job summary

The North Florida/South Georgia VA Health Care System is seeking a board-certified Critical Care Physician to join our Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an approved medical school
• Current, full and unrestricted medical license in the United States
• Board Certification in Critical Care Medicine
• Residency in an approved core specialty with eligibility for board certification
• Ability to obtain/maintain VA credentialing
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care for surgical ICU patients including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment
• Perform or supervise ICU procedures such as central line placement, arterial line insertion, intubation and ventilator management
• Develop individualized care plans with multidisciplinary teams and manage postoperative complications
• Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records and communicate critical information to care teams and families
• Mentor residents and students and participate in quality improvement and clinical research
