Job summary

PCI Pharma Services seeks a Lead, IC&V Shift – 3rd Shift to guide a team of electrical and vision technicians. You will prioritize line setups, new jobs, and installations under supervision, ensuring safe, efficient maintenance.

This role requires strong PLC troubleshooting and machine vision expertise, with hands‑on AutoCAD use for drawings. You will also train others, manage PM tasks, and work with lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications

  • TABE testing requirements met at approved grade level.
  • Associate’s Degree in a related field or 1–3 years experience.
  • Basic mathematical skills and computer literacy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct IC&V technicians on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • Train technicians on PLC troubleshooting and repair.
  • Program and educate on machine vision systems and code reading.
  • Commission, program, and diagnose servo drives and motion systems.

Position Title

Lead, IC&V Shift – 3rd Shift

The Lead, IC&V Technician will lead and coordinate a team of electrical and vision technicians, ensuring all preventative and corrective maintenance is executed in a safe and efficient manner. Provide leadership and direction to the IC&V teams, prioritizing line set‑ups, new jobs and installations in accordance with the Maintenance Supervisors and Team Leads.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading and providing day‑to‑day direction to the IC&V technicians.
  • In-depth knowledge of factory automation and the ability to train less skilled technicians on how to properly troubleshoot PLCs.
  • Vision‑Systems: Knowledge of machine vision systems, including the ability to program code‑reading systems and to properly educate and train new technicians.
  • Servo Drives: The ability to commission, program and diagnose motion systems.
  • Drawings and Diagrams: The ability to read, interpret and use the information presented in drawings, diagrams, schematics and blueprints to determine appropriate activities, tools and next steps in the production process.
  • Software: Ability to use multiple software systems that communicate with equipment. Manage software and hardware for control/data systems by maintaining and creating a library for systems being used, and keeping licensing up to date.
  • Electrical Systems: Knowledge of 3‑phase electrical systems, including components, repair processes, and installation procedures.
  • AutoCAD: The ability to draft equipment drawings and diagrams for design purposes using AutoCAD.
  • Preventative Maintenance: The ability to identify equipment maintenance needs by using PM Work Orders, and to communicate these needs to the appropriate persons.
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Procedures: Knowledge of the processes and procedures to lock out equipment while cleaning, repairing or servicing.
  • Machine/Equipment Knowledge: Knowledge of mechanical components, connections, and inter‑dependencies, including basic machine operations, gears and drive shafts.
  • Material Handling Equipment: Knowledge of and the ability to use material handling equipment, including forklifts, aerial lifts and pallet jacks.
  • Measuring Devices: The ability to read and use micrometers, measuring tools, gauges, indicators and calibration stickers.
  • Production Processes: Basic knowledge and development of plant production processes and layouts, including cross‑departmental coordination, communication and planning within our area of responsibility.
  • Power Tools: The ability to properly and safely operate, maintain, repair, clean and store power tools and equipment (e.g., chop‑saw, hand drills).
  • Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move your hands, your arms together with your hands, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects.
  • Hand‑eye Coordination: The ability to coordinate one’s eyes with one’s fingers, wrists or arms to move, carry or manipulate objects or to perform other job‑related tasks.
  • Visual Acuity: The ability to see details (e.g., letters, numbers, codes, colour, symbols, marks, labels, signs) clearly to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Mechanics in problem solving and/or equipment set‑up.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP and GCP policies, procedures and rules.
  • Can perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

  • Be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in math or diagram form and deal with several abstract/concrete variables.

Salary and Compensation

The hiring rate for this position is $30.27 - $34.06 hourly plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
